Mrs. Allman was a homemaker. She received the Lafayette Salute to Women Award for homemaking and was named the Purdue consumer science department's homemaker of the year. She also served as president and treasurer of the West Lafayette Library Board and founded the West Lafayette Library Foundation. Mrs. Allman was an avid Purdue sports fan.
Surviving is a son, Bruce Allman and his wife, Lenna, of Indianapolis; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Friday, March 25, 2005, in the Federated Church, 2400 Sycamore Lane, West Lafayette, IN 47906. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may contribute to the Nancy Allman Fund of the West Lafayette Public Library Foundation. Final care and arrangements entrusted to Soller-Baker Funeral Home, Lafayette.
