Huldah was the 1st child born to David & Martha Jane (Wetzel) Exline in 1850 in Ritchie Co. VA, (now WV). She appears with them in the 1850 census. Her father was injured at Antietam Battlefield & then moved the family to Indiana after the Civil War, or after his release from the hospital. Her husband was also in the Civil War. In addition, she cared for her aging mother Martha in her last years. She witnessed many historic events in her life.
