Born August 28, 1918 in Winslow, IN, he was the son of the late Ezra and Ada Eskew Kerr. Mr. Kerr was a 1937 graduate of Eastern High School in Washington, DC. He served in the U.S. Army and Army Air Corps during World War II from August 1941 to December 1945 and served in the United States Air Force Air National Guard from February 1948 to May 1974 retiring as a Senior Master Sergeant, USAF. Mr. Kerr was a former member of the DC Ramblersand the National Capital Motorcycle Clubs. He resided in Greenbelt, MD from 1952 to 2003 and was Past Chief and Life Member of the Greenbelt Volunteer Fire Department. He was married 63 years to Marca Elizabeth Greaver Kerr. She preceded him in death in January 2005. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, who was lovingly cared for during the past year by his friend and companion, Dale Claytor of Colton Point, MD.
He is survived by a son Michael R. Kerr and his wife Linda A. Kerr of Great Mills, MD, a grandson, David Polikoff and his wife, Cindy, a great granddaughter, Anya Elizabeth Polikoff, a brother, Wallace Kerr of Rockville, MD and a sister, Marion Nagel of Knoxville, MD. He was predeceased by his wife Marca and three brothers; Walter, Harold and Horace Kerr.
