He was born February 28, 1927 in Salt Lake City, the son of Leo Mervin and Louise Faulkner Richards. Married Faye Hardy on March 5, 1948. Marriage later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on March 5, 1990.Employed as a salesman and buyer at the Salt Lake Hardware Company for 30 years. After retirement, worked at J.C. Penney Company and at the time of his death was an Associate at R.C. Willey Furniture Company.
During the Korean War, he served in the Signal Corps.
He liked to read, golf, and spend time with his many friends. He enjoyed his summer working as a Marshal at Bountiful Ridge Golf Course. Bob loved traveling and especially the many summers spent with his family at Cannon Beach, Oregon.
He was an active member of the L.D.S. Church, serving in various leadership positions.
Survived by his wife, Faye; children, Robert Craig (Marilee) Richards and Shauna Richards Blackett; four grandchildren, Teresa Richards Lake, Ryan Bradshaw, Jared Richards and Austin Blackett; two great grandchildren, Ashton Lake and Tyler Bradshaw. Two brothers, Dale and Ron, sister, Lois Lloyd. Also, "Oscar" his four legged banana eating buddy. He was preceded in death by parents and five brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 17th at 11 a.m. at the Bountiful 24th Ward, 720 East 550 North, Bountiful. Friends may call Friday evening, July 16th from 6-8 p.m. at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful. Prior to services, viewing held 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the Bountiful 24th Ward. Interment in the Bountiful City Cemetery.
