Allan Kenneth Long, Jr., "Big Al" 53 of Mechanicsville, MD died on August 19, 2006 at his residence.
Born on November 4, 1952, he was the son of Betty Gibbs Long of Accokeek, MD and the late Allan Kenneth Long, Sr. He grew up in Capitol Heights, MD. For more than 20 years, he was an elevator maintenance mechanic and former Business Agent. Prior he served in the U.S. Navy. During his time, he served as a Communication Technician and also served aboard the USS Mount Whitney. He was a member of the International Elevator Union, Local 10. Some of his enjoyments were baseball, bowling, NHRA drag racing, and spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his brother and his wife, Donnie and Heather Long, nephew, Eric Long, all of Charlotte Hall, MD, sister and her husband, Nancy and Rick Roberts , niece and her husband, Dawn and Ronnie Rowe, nephew, Kyle Roberts, all of Waldorf, MD.
