Dad was the only child born to Fred and Ethel Greiner. They were deaf parents from Scarlet Fever, and decided on 1 child because of their disability. He loved Boy Scouts, and was 1 medal shy of being Eagle Scout (WWII happened). He graduated HS in 1940 from Northeast HS (old one), at 15 years old. He loved Photography, graduated from Modern School of Photography in NY, 1945. Loved airplanes, and eventually got a job as a Ramp Serviceman at United Airlines in Phila. International Airport, Phila., PA from 1951-1985 (retired). Married Edna Ruth Burks on May 14, 1949 at Allegheny Ave. Baptist Church, Phila.,PA. I am the only natural born child, born on his 30th birthday in 1956. He smoked cigarettes from age 8, and drank alcohol (Beer) daily. His doctors agreed that they were the causes that started his Alzheimer's. In 2001, he was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease, which took his life 4 years later, at ManorCare in Huntingdon Valley, PA. He left behind many memories, which were recorded in photographs and on video. He was very kind hearted and warm. He is sorely missed, but will never be forgotten, as he was loved by many. I will always be thankful for him, as now I realize in everyday life, how much his words still guide me. I will see him in Heaven, one day.
