John Carl Schwarz was born in Rollwitz a municipality in the Vorpommern-Greifswald district, in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany. He was a farmer and first settled in Warren, Macomb Co. Michigan before acquiring property in Sanilac Co. The house is still there S.W. corner of M 46 and S. Germainia Rd..

Note the family name was Schwarz but thru time and misspelling became Schwartz. It was easier for the rest of the family to go with the flow, than try to change everybody else.
