Columbia Daily Tribune (MO) - Wednesday, November 1, 2000:

John Ronald Hagan Sr., 73, of Alamo, Texas, died of cancer Thursday, Oct. 19, 2000, at Knapp Medical Center in Weslaco, Texas.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 23, at the Alamo Country Club clubhouse in McAllen with the Rev. Wayne Carter officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Kreidler Funeral Home in McAllen.

Mr. Hagan was born Dec. 7, 1926, in Columbia to William and Jenny Mae Wright Hagan.
He married Dorothy Mae Sandker in 1949, and she survives.

He was a veteran of World War II. He graduated from the University of Missouri in 1960 and worked for several years for Missouri Farmers Association in Columbia. He later worked for PBI-Gordon Chemical in Kansas City, Kan., and he and his wife owned the Modern Book Shop in Kansas City. He retired from the Missouri Department of Agriculture in 1989. He was a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church of Pharr, Texas.

Survivors also include a son, the Rev. John Hagan Jr.; a brother, George Hagan; and a grandson. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Jack Hagan, William Hagan and Francis Hagan, and a sister, Mae Nelle Turner.
