ARCADIA - MRS. MUNDELL, 90, SUCCUMBS [Mrs. V. V. Leaming] - Mrs. Joseph Mundell, 90-year-old Atlanta resident who spent mort of her life in that and the Arcadia community, died at 6:15 a.m. today at Tipton Memorial hospital after being a patient there a few days. Ill several months, she died with cancer. Last rites are planned at 2 p.m. Saturday at Shaffer Funeral home where the body is lying in state. Burial is to be in East Union cemetery. Born near Ekin on March 30, 1865, the former Miss Marietta Small was the daughter of Archibald and Mary Ann (Coats) Small. She and Joseph Mundell, who will be 91 in a few days, were married Nov. 8, 1900. The couple lived in Tipton and Hamilton counties, and for 12 years resided in Arcadia. Three years ago, they moved to Atlanta to be near a daughter, Mrs. Elbert McBane. Mrs. Mundell was a member of East Union Christian church. Surviving with the husband and daughter is a son, Russell, of Acton; one brother, Thomas (Tommy) Small, 94, of Tipton, last survivor of a large family; five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
