Ivan R. Smith, 97 of 84 Great Hill Road, husband of the late Helena ( Smith ) Smith, died Wednesday at Griffin Hospital, after a short illness.
Born Sept. 19, 1887, in Oxford, he was a crane operator with American Brass Co. for 35 years until his retirement.
Mr. Smith was a member of the Seymour Congregational Church, the Oxford Senior Center and the Valley Golden Age Club.
Survivors include a son Wesley, 2 daughters Maude and Laura, and 7 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.
