Dorothy L. Grove, 86, of Poplar St, Westernport, passed away Sunday, June 19, 2016 at Western Maryland Regional Medical Center, Cumberland.
Born October 24, 1929 in Westernport, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Dollie Mae (Grove) Broadwater. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Donald L. Grove in 1999, and her brothers and sisters, Howard Broadwater, Naoma Ashenfelter, Carl Broadwater, Mildred Garlitz, Paul Broadwater, Gladys Jones and Norris Broadwater.
Dorothy was a 1947 graduate of Bruce High School. She was a homemaker, a member of St. James Episcopal Church, Westernport, where she was active with the “Young At Heart” group of the church and a member of the Westernport Heritage Society. She also attended the Swanton Senior Center on a regular basis during the summer months.
She leaves behind two sons, Ronald Lee Grove and wife Beverly of Westernport, David Alan Grove and wife Kathleen of Westernport, her grandchildren, Christie (Grove) Kimble and husband George, Mishawn (Tinsley) Vinci and husband Robert, Jeffery Grove, Michelle Grove, Robert Aden Grove and Mellisa Danielle (Grove) Hillery. She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Tiffany Vinci and significant other, Cody Nightengale, Brianna (Kimble) Anderson, Marina Kimble, Trey Grove, Robert Shawn Vinci and significant other, Courtney Nightengale, Westley Kimble, Jada Whetzel, Tanner Grove, Zack Grove, Larae Grove, Corbin Hillery, Joey Fiore and Ashlee Lane, her great-great grandchildren, Damian, Alaina, Ryleigh, and Kinsley, and her extended family Sam, Adrienne, Seth and Gracie Ingram, and lots of very special friends.
Friends and family will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Tuesday from 6 to 8 PM and on Wednesday one hour prior to funeral service from 11 AM to 12 PM.
A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home chapel on Wednesday at 12:00 PM, with Rev. Garrett Carskadon officiating.
Interment will be in Rest Lawn Memorial Gardens, LaVale.
