He was a son of William and Emma née Horton Krum. Walter Krum was married to Bertha A. née Steenburgh. Their children were Olin Clifford Krum and Laura Esther Krum, wife of Watson Seymour Green.

Walter G. Krum, 100, of Artesia, California, died there May 27, 1950. He was born in Danby and was married to the late Bertha Steenberg Krum.

Mr. Krum was a lecturer on rural organization. He was on the poultry staff at the New York State College of Agriculture at Cornell University from 1907 until retirement in 1935. He was the first poultry extension teacher in the United States and organized the first 4-H Poultry Clubs.

He was the last surviving member of Epsilon Sigma Phi and of the Poultry Science Assn., founded in 1908.

Mr. Krum is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Laura Green of Rochester; one son, Olin C. Krum of Artesia, California; five grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held in the Bangs Funeral Home, Ithaca and burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery. The Rev. Sheldon B. Stephenson will officiate.
