Hastings Brewer died at his home in Reno, Feb. 15, 1912 in the 90th year of his age. Mr. Brewer was born in North Carolina Aug. 13, 1822 and when about 15 years of age came to Bond County with his father John Brewer. He married Miss Martha Ann Blaylock in Saline County, March 14, 1846. She was a native of Kentucky. He is survived by his widow and three sons T.J. Brewer of Old Ripley Township, Franklin L. Brewer of Reno, George Brewer who's whereabouts are unknown and one daughter Mrs. Nancy Emily Edwards, wife of Albert J. Edwards of Reno. That is all that are living of a family of thirteen children. Mr. Brewer is the last of his immediate family. burial took place in Wade Cemetery in Round Prarie.
