Robert 'Edgar' Long was the son of James
Forrest Long and Sarah Ann 'Dodson' Long.
He was the grandson of Moses Long and Rhoda
'Atchley' Long. Also Levi Dodson and
Mary Ann 'Anderson' Dodson.
Edgar attended Harriman University and was
a school teacher. Later becoming a rural
mail carrier.
He first married Myrtle Docia 'Womack'
and they were the parents of two children:
Ruth Esther
John R.
Myrtle died in 1911 from typhoid fever.
Edgar remarried in 1914 to Gertrude Mae
'Everett.' They had 5 children; In order:
Martha Ann
Florence Kate
Jennie Lee
James Everett
