OBITUARY: Menomonee Falls News January 20, 1938 "JACOB B. CAESAR. On Friday, January 14 at Waukesha, occurred the death of Jacob B. Caesar, one of the towns well known and well loved citizens.

Mr. Caesar was born in Milwaukee on July 31, 1860. As a youth he learned the blacksmith trade from a man named Grimmer, a former resident of this village. He plied his trade in Germantown and in Menomonee Falls with the late Peter Bloedel. Shoeing horses in his early days meant doing work at 15 cents a shoe.

On October 6, 1881, he was united in marriage to Miss Rose Kuepfer who preceded him in death on January 22, 1929. He is survived by four sons and one daughter; Alfred and Willard of this village; Elmer and Julius of Milwaukee and Mrs. Alda Whitenhagen, Milwaukee. Three sons preceded him in death, Walter, dying at the age of nine, Edward, five years ago and one child in infancy.

Funeral services were held from the funeral parlors of A. A. Schmidt and sons, Monday, January 17, the Rev. H. A. Crusius officiating. Burial took place in Sunnyside cemetery."
