Daughter of the late Evelyn and George Hurd, she was born in Cecilton, MD and raised in Clayton, DE. Pauline was a homemaker and dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. Her happiest moments were with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed country music, baseball, reading and word-search puzzles.
Pauline was preceded in death by her husband, Herb Alexander, in 1991; and son, Jim Alexander, in 2000. She is survived by son, Roy "Duke" Alexander and wife, Donna, of Fairfax, VA; daughter, Elaine Ford and husband, Greg, of Middletown, DE; daughter, Lorraine Cleaver and husband, Chris, of Odessa, DE; daughter, Debbie Wessells and husband, Bill, of Middletown, DE; and daughter-in-law, Connie Alexander. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, Jeff Alexander, Jerry Alexander, Chrissy Masino, David Alexander, Alexis Alexander, Andrew Ford, Jon Cleaver, Scott Cleaver and Billy Wessells; and 3 great grandchildren, Todd Neal, Haley Alexander and Ethan Alexander.
A funeral service will be held at DANIELS & HUTCHISON FUNERAL HOMES, 212 North Broad Street, Middletown, DE, on Saturday, January 14, 2006, at 11 am. Family and friends may call at Daniels & Hutchison on Friday, January 13, from 7-9 pm. Burial will be in Townsend Cemetery, Townsend, DE
