Iris Hortence Cunningham Dillard died Sunday, November 5, 2006 at a local hospital. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday morning, November 11th at Macedonia Baptist Church with interment at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of Girdner Funeral Home.

Iris Cunningham was born to William and Annie Bell Cunningham in New Weaverly, Texas. She graduated from Abilene Negro High School and Tyler Barber College in Tyler, Texas. After graduating from Barber College, she worked with the late Annie Mae Wiley at the Curtis Barber shop for a number of years.

Mrs. Dillard was a charter member of the Macedonia Baptist Church. She served as Sunday School Secretary for many years and for over fifty years, she sang in the senior choir.

Mrs. Dillard was preceded in death by her parents, William and Annie Bell Cunningham; two brothers, Howard Cunningham and Johnny Cunningham; a sister, Ruby Mae Warren; and a daughter, Versie Ann Dillard Neal.

Survivors include: her husband, Ivory Dillard; her son, William Howard Cunningham and wife Lerlean of Stafford, Texas; two daughters, Brenda Corder and husband Curry of Antioch, Tennessee and Judy Brown of Amarillo, Texas; seven grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

The family wishes to thank everyone for the many kind expressions of sympathy during our time of bereavement.
