MUNCIE- Eleva Mae (Acton) Morris, 84, passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at The Woodlands Nursing Home.
She was born April 4, 1932 in Indianapolis, the daughter of Charles and Yuvonne Imogene (Carpenter) Acton. Mae graduated from Clearspring High School in 1950, and met her husband while working at Arvins in Columbus, IN.
Mae was a longtime homemaker, and later worked in retail and was a licensed realtor for a short time.
Mrs. Morris was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Brethren Church, and enjoyed gardening, making crafts, and vacationing with her husband in Florida and Alabama.
Mae enjoyed life and cared deeply for others. Her effect on those she knew will be remembered and cherished forever.
She is survived by two sons, Rick Morris (wife, Kelly), and Robert Morris (wife, Sandra); six grandchildren, Dean Morris, Emily Bratianu (husband, Ion), Chelsea Morris, Ryan Morris (wife, Ashley), Rachel French (husband, Brock), and Jacob Morris; five great grandchildren, Constantin, Vintila, George and Theodore Bratianu, and Boston Morris; three brothers, Jerry Acton (wife, Sondra), Larry Acton, and Bill Acton (wife, Ruth); nephew, Lanny Kelly; niece, Sue Gant; two cousins, Wanda (Ashcraft) Shafer and Eleva Mae Ivey; and numerous other cousins, nephews, and nieces.
Mae was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard “Dick” Morris in 2013; one sister, Remona Jean Acton, and two brothers, Ellis and Charles Willis Acton.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, June 27, 2016 at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant, IN.
