Died, at his home near Jonesdale,on Friday, July 29th, Mr. Matthew Ley, Sr., aged 77 years.
Deceased was born in Luxemberg, came to America in 1855, remained a short time in Buffalo, N.Y., after which he came to Mineral Point; removed to Blue Mounds and worked at his trade, tailoring; from that place he removed to his farm in the town of Waldwick where he resided until his death. He was an industriious, upright man and was always held in the highest esteem by his friends and neighbors. His wife and grown family survive him.
The funeral took place on last Sunday afternoon. The body was brought to this city for burial. Services were held in St. Mary's Catholci church, with internment in St. Mary's cemetery. The funeral was very largely attended.
