Ruby Newman graduated from East Central Junior College, Decatur, MS and Southern Mississippi at Hattiesburg, MS., and retired from the Memphis City School System. She was a longtime member of Leawood Baptist Church, Memphis, TN. She was a Sunday school teacher and worked in Vacation Bible School
She is survived by a brother, Leroy Barnett and his wife Mary Frances; a niece, Susan; and three nephews, Raymond, Richard and Daris Barnett.
