Virgil Marshall
Virgil Norman Marshall died at the home of his father, Dr. R.A. Marshall on East Main street, Sunday morning, August 6, at 12:30.

The funeral was held at the residence of his father on Monday, Aug. 7 at 3 p.m. and there was an unusually large attendance. The services were conducted by Rev. Ray Lessig, of the Christian church. The choir sang beautifully. It was composed of Mrs. C.W. Pratt, Miss Winifred Miller, Flavil Viets and Jas. A. Grant. There were many beautiful floral contributions. Interment was made in Elmwood cemetery.

Virgil Norman Marshall was born in Augusta, Kans., Oct. 9, 1886 making him 24 years 9 months and 27 days old. He was reared and educated in the Augusta Public Schools. He took a course in business college in Wichita. He was but a little more than 7 years old when his mother died with the same disease that took him away - consumption. He is survived by his father, Dr. R.A. Marshall, a brother, Deering Marshall, of the Bowen & Marshall Shoe Co., of Wichita.

His condition was not observed to be serious until a few months ago. About four weeks ago he made an automobile trip to the mountains of Colorado with his brother, Derring Marshall, hoping to benefit his health but he became so weak that he returned home by rail about nine days before he died.

Deceased was a well liked young man as the large attendance at his funeral would indicate had and a large circle of friends who regret to see one so young removed from this life.
