Genevieve was born October 2, 1915, one of 12 children to Andrew and Frances Kamas Stachowski. She is predeceased by all her siblings. Gen is survived by her husband John J. A'Brunzo, with whom she would have celebrated 48 years of marriage on October 28th; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Philip and Herma A'Brunzo, Betty A'Brunzo, Rose Marie Palma, Vincent and Sally A'Brunzo and Connie A'Brunzo; special niece, Nancy Zito, who was like a daughter to Gen, and niece Joan Carol Dunay; along with several other nieces and nephews.
Gen was retired from St. Joseph's Hospital with over 20 years of service. A life long communicant of St. Casimir's Church, she attended school there as a child.
Family and friends are invited to a graveside service at St. Peter & Paul's Cemetery on Tuesday, October 25, 2005 at 12:30 p.m. Family and friends are also invited to a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, October 29, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Casimir's Church. Donations in Gen's memory may be directed to St. Joseph's Hospital, 5th Floor Skilled Nursing Unit, 555 E. Market Street, Elmira, NY 14901.
Gen's family would like to extend a special thanks to Laurie Sweeney and the staff of Woodbrook, Dr. John Schiavone, and to Maureen, Vicki, Linda, Donna, Sister Marie Michael and the rest of the staff of St. Joseph's 5th Floor Skilled Nursing Unit for the loving and dedicated care given to her.
