Manuel de Silvia, 59, also known as Manuel Duarte, of 139 Hathaway Street died Monday after two months' illness. Born in St. Michael, Azores, he had lived in this country 37 years. He was employed in the spinning room of the Soule Mill. He is survived by one son, Manuel of New York, on daughter Mrs. Olivia Roderiques, and one brother Joseph, both on New Bedford and one sister, Mary Duarte of St. Michael.
