1917-2016 PITTSFIELD Nina C. Chiaretto, 99 of 7 Delaware Ave., Pittsfield died Sunday, March 27, 2016 at Berkshire Place, 290 South St, Pittsfield. She was born in Wilmington, VT on March 16, 1917, a daughter of the late Federico and Maria (Maselli) Valenti. Nina moved to Pittsfield at the age of 8 and attended schools in Pittsfield and graduated from Pittsfield High School with the class of 1935 and then graduated from Berkshire Business School. She was employed by the General Electric Co. for 38 years and retired from the Plastics Division as a payroll clerk in 1974. She was a former communicant of St. Mary the Morning Star Parish in Pittsfield. Nina wintered in Florida and enjoyed golfing, bowling and was a former member of Berkshire Hills Country Club. She was the widow of Thomas D. "Chick" Chiaretto whom she married on October 12, 1940 in Mt. Carmel Church and he died February 6, 2004. Survivors include her brother, Frederick C. Valenti and his wife Mary of Pittsfield, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was predeceased by 3 brothers, Adolph, Gino and Dario Valenti and 3 sisters, Margaret Bogino, Ida Doyle, Valentina Wilk and her sister-in-law Vera Fresia. Funeral Notice: Services for Nina C. Chiaretto will be private and there are No Calling Hours. Her family would like to thank the staff at Berkshire Place and HospiceCare in the Berkshires for their kindness, love, & support shown to Nina, they are eternally grateful.
