The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 from 7:00-9:00 PM at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home in Midland. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 30, 2016 at 3:00 PM at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Chapel.
Raymond was born on October 19, 1941 to Eva Lorene "Mema" and William Bryant in Midland, Texas.
He attended Midland High School.
He enlisted in the United States Army in March 1960, completed his basic training at Fort Ord, California and began his career operating battery acquisition radar at the Fort Phantom Missile site. He was a member of the 5th/517th Missile Battalion Battery A, Nike Air Defense Battalion and retired after 20 years of faithful service to his country.
His hobbies included watching westerns, westerns and more westerns. He also enjoyed reading westerns, fishing, watching wrestling, telling jokes, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by sons, George Christopher Bryant and Raymond Paul "Ricky" Bryant, both of Midland, Texas and daughter, Marlo Rogan of Lubbock, Texas; grandson, Jansen Gene Fryar and granddaughters, Magdalena Eva Bryant, Hailey Cooper, Brianna Cooper, and Tiffany Elaine Tynes; and great-grandson Nolan Fryar.
He is preceded in death by his parents and wife Kay L. (Horrocks) Bryant.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be donated to the Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Road, Suite 300, Jacksonville, Florida 32256.
