Fanny A. Abraham (nee: Baraga), 88 years of age, and a resident of Lorain, passed away Friday, September 16, 2005 at New Life Hospice Residential Center in Lorain following a one-month illness.

She was born December 25, 1916 in Lorain. She was raised in Lorain and has been a lifetime resident.

Fanny was employed at the former Lorain County Bank in Amherst, now FirstMerit, for over thirty years, retiring as the manager of the Leavitt Road Branch. Before starting her career at the bank, she worked as a secretary for Milad Chevrolet-Oldsmobile dealership in Amherst and after retiring from the bank, she worked as a Title Clerk for Bob Morris Chevrolet-Oldsmobile in Amherst. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Amherst and a former member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Lorain. Fanny loved animals, sports, and took special pleasure in feeding the squirrels and birds.

She was preceded in death by her first husband Leo Andrew Conrad in 1965; by her second husband Milad Abraham on June 22, 2005; and by her son, Clifford L. Conrad of West LaFayette, Indiana in 1980.

Friends may call Sunday, September 18, 2005 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home, 373 Cleveland Avenue, Amherst.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church; 200 St. Joseph Drive, Amherst. The Rev. Fr. Lawrence Martello, pastor, will officiate.

Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Amherst
