Joseph John Chulick, 89, passed away Tuesday, February 24, 2015, at the Monroe Rehabilitation Center. Born July 5, 1925, in Erie, Pa., he was a son of the late John and Josephine (Stanola) Chulick.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 27, 2015, at Austin Grove Baptist Church. Burial with military honors will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior in the church fellowship hall.

Joe was a self-employed builder at Chulick Construction in Atlanta, Ga., during the 1970s. He was involved with the original redevelopment of underground Atlanta. He was the owner of a custom shutter company – The Shutter Mill in Houston, Texas, in the 1980s and superintendent of various builders in Charlotte, N.C., during the late '80s and '90s. After retirement, he chose to stay involved in construction by becoming a home inspector. He was a WWII and Korean veteran.

He is survived by a son, Gordon Chulick, of Roswell, Ga.; two daughters, Colleen Graff and Marsha Chulick, both of Roswell, Ga.; two brothers, Tom Chulick of Erie, Pa., and Andrew Chulick, of Wilton, Conn.; and a special friend, Brenda Lee, of Marshville, N.C.
