She was the daughter of Laurence Daly and Honora Quinn and the granddaughter of Daniel Daly and Alice Flinn/Flynn. She was the youngest of seven known brothers and sisters; Daniel b. 1825, John b. 1827, Alice b. 1828, Patrick b. 1830, Laurence b. 1832, Mary b. 1834, and Eugene AKA Owen, b. 1836.
Kate immigrated to the United States in 1863 and moved to Yonkers where she met and married Bernard May. She and Bernard had six children; Bernard, Thomas, Margaret, Joseph, John, and Frances.
Catherine remained a life long resident of Yonkers until her death.
