Dr. J. R. Barnett died Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock at his home in Peoria. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday morning at 10:30 o'clock in Lincoln. Dr. Barnett is a brother of J. A. Barnett and Mattie Barnett of this locality. He had made frequent visits to Maroa and was well known here and at Latham. After practicing medicine for 15 years in Hartsburg, Logan County, the deceased was assistant superintendent of the institute for feeble minded in Lincoln for 6 years. He followed his profession as physician in Lincoln for several years until his health failed about two years ago. He leaves a wife and one son, Robert, in Peoria. J. A. Barnett went to Lincoln Wednesday to attend the funeral.
