Renee worked in Oakland, California for Honeywell Engineering Co. constructing naval ship engines while Albert was deployed in the South Pacific.

After the war ended, Albert and Renee returned to his hometown of Topeka, Kansas. They were blessed with the births of Michelle Rohr (Portland, OR) and Dr. Candice Rohr (Eugene, OR) while starting their lives together in Topeka. In 1950, they moved to Lubbock, Texas where Michael Rohr (Hilo, HI), Denise Barta, (Creswell, OR) and Kristine Sullens (Beaverton, OR) were born. From childhood, Renee was known for her independence, enjoyment of people, positive outlook and ability to manage resources effectively so as to provide the most for her family. She was strong-willed, yet willing to give anything a try. Renee instilled in her family a love of traveling as she and Albert took the family on vacations through the Midwest and Western States. Education was important to the family as all five children graduated from Texas Tech University and Candice completed medical school at Tulane. Throughout her life she was proud of "doing things my way". Renee spoke of her good fortune of having the positive environment of family, friends and church throughout her life. An excellent cook, family dinners were always a festive event and with the whole family together as much as possible.

In her later years she moved into Farmington Square Senior Living Center in Eugene Oregon where she once again made many friends. With an endless will to live, positive outlook but limited mobility she ultimately moved into the Good Samaritan Nursing Home. Renee was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Albert, her mother, father, sisters and brother.
