Marvin Jewel Gattis, Jr., 65, of Fort Smith died Friday, December 25, 1998, in a local hospital. He was retired from McKesson and Robbins Drug Co., was a deacon at First Baptist Church, former radio announcer for KWHN, KMAG and KFPW and a veteran of the Korean War.
Funeral will be 10 a. m. Tuesday in Lewis Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth; one daughter, Marvetta Sisco of Fort Smith; one son, Paul Allen Gattis, Sr. of Fort Smith; two sisters, Shirley Spicer of Scranton and Dale Marr of Fort Smith; two brothers, James Gattis of Paris and Danny Gattis of Scranton and three grandchildren, Paul Allen Gattis, Jr. and Megan and Morgan Sisco.
Pallbearers will be Glenn O'Neal, Gordon Brown, Hugh Shivley, Joe Potts, Carl Riggins and Dudley Terry.
Honarary pallbearers will be deacons of the First Baptist Church.
The family will visit with friends from 6:30 p. m. to 7: 30 p. m. today at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church Choir, 14th and Grand, Fort Smith, AR 72901.
