Augustus, James Francis, age 62, Of Wilmington, formerly of Chicago, passed away Tuesday, February 11, 1997 at his home. He was born July 13, 1934 in Chicago.


Dearest companion of Carol A. Donegan; father of David Augustus and Jennifer "Pearl" (Marty) Soellner; grandfather of Grant "Spot" Augustus and Jill "Fluffy" Krammer; brother of Robert (Peg) Augustus, Mary Culhane, Madge Nebe, Maurice (Jude) Augustus, Delores Kennedy, Loretta Kozella, Florence (Jim) DeFalco and numerous nieces and nephews.


Preceded in death by his parents, Duffy and Madge (Black) Augustus.


Retired employee of the Chicago Police Department as an officer and the Inland Steel Co. as an engineer. Veteran of the Korean War serving with the U.S. Marine Corp.


A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 18, 1997 at St. Rose Catholic Church, 600 South Kankakee Street, Wilmington. Rev. Francis Maher officiating.


At Jim's request his body was donated to science.


After Mass a luncheon will follow in his memory.


Memorials to the Joliet Area Community Hospice Unit would be appreciated.
