Sarah E. Albert, 93, of Carlisle and a resident of Thornwald Home, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, June 17, 2016 while surrounded by her family.

She was born March 28, 1923 in Gardners to the late Frank C. and Bertha M. (Richwine) Adams and was the widow of the late William E. Albert, Sr. who passed July 6, 2001.

Sarah retired as an inspector from the former Reeves-Hoffman Crystal Plant in Carlisle. She was a member of the former Grace United Methodist Church where she attended the Thelma McCullough Sunday School Class. Sarah loved square dancing and belonged to the Whirl-A-Ways Square Dancers and AARP. She enjoyed dancing, sewing, gardening, baking and loved being with her family.

Surviving are her daughter, Bonnie (Albert) Rutz and husband Barry of Carlisle, one sister, Doris Monismith of Carlisle, a daughter in-law, LeMarie Mahoney of Harrisburg, four grandchildren; Jason Albert and wife Susan of Carlisle, Gretchen (Albert) Spangler and husband James of Carlisle, Janelle (Thrush) Hippensteel and husband Michael of Newville and Jill (Thrush) Schultz and husband Brent of Mechanicsburg; and six great-grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, Mark Rutz and Heather Darhower, both of Carlisle, four step-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son, William E. Albert, Jr, six sisters, Leah Glass, Theresa Hershey, Pauline Barrick, Mildred Stoner, Lois Daugherty and Jackie Spahr and eight brothers; Luther, Ray, Robert, Kenneth, Paul, Marlin, George and Clair Adams.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday July 23, 2016 at Hoffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA with Rev. Scott Allen officiating. Interment will be at Westminster Cemetery, Carlisle. There will be a viewing at the funeral home from 6:00 – 8:00 pm Wednesday.
