Edward T. Hollingsworth Funeral is Arranged
Funeral service for Edward Tracy Hollingsworth, age 75, former Gadsden banker who died at his home here follows an illness were held at the Brown-Service Chapel Wednesday with the Rev. Ivan H. Trusler, pastor of First Presbyterian Church, Gadsden, officiating. Burial was in Forrest Cemetery. Surviving wife, Mrs. Ethel Martin Hollingsworth; two daughters, Mrs. Phil Fulcher, NY, Mrs. Palmer Gaillard, Mobile and three sons, Edward Tracy Hollingsworth, Jr, Miami; William H. Hollingsworth, Gadsden and Edward Hollingsworth, Gadsden, AL. Mr. Hollingsworth was president of Gadsden National Bank until it closed in 1932. He was a pioneer in hydro-electric development in this section, being the owner and operator of an electric plan here for a number of years. He was a brother-in-law of the late Capt. William Patrick Lay, founder of Alabama Power Company. Though he was in business in Oklahoma for a short time, most of his life was spent in Gadsden. He was active in civic and religious affairs. He was a son of the late Maj. W.P. Hollingsworth, an officer in the War Between the States and a pioneer citizen of Gadsden.
