Joseph Michael “Slick” Brimmer, age 32, passed away unexpectedly, Wednesday, June 29, 2016 after being involved in a motorcycle accident. He was born on July 24, 1983 in Wyandotte, Michigan. Joe was the owner/operator of JB Window/Gutter Cleaning for 7 years. He was a member of GLC Motorcycle Club. Joe was an avid fisherman, always taking part in the Walleye Run. He loved baseball, football and basketball. Joe also enjoyed camping and spending time with his boys. If you met Joe, you never forgot him, he left a lasting impression that will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Joe is survived by his loving sons, Jayson and Brandyn Brimmer; sister, Amanda (Cody) Shafer; niece, Chloe Shafer; wife, Nicole Crosby; step-sons, Nick, D.J. and Jacob Crosby; uncle, Chuck Milstead; father, Joseph Michael Vincent; spec and many cousins and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his mom, Deborah Brimmer; and aunt, Kathleen Milstead. His girlfriend Catherine Kime who was in the accident with him died shortly after the accident.

The family will receive guests on Sunday, July 10, 2016 from 2 – 4:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo, (419-473-0300) with Memorial Services beginning Sunday at 4:00 p.m. in the funeral home.

A woman who was hospitalized with injuries suffered in a motorcycle crash that killed a man in South Toledo late Wednesday has died, authorities said.

Catherine Kime, 21, of Sylvania, a passenger on the motorcycle driven by Joseph Brimmer, 32, of Toledo, was pronounced dead at 6:01 a.m. today at University of Toledo Medical Center, the former Medical College of Ohio Hospital, according to the Lucas County Coroner’s Office.

Mr. Brimmer was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Toledo police.

The motorcycle was driving south on Byrne Avenue approaching Hill Avenue about 10:30 p.m. when the other vehicle drove into its path, making a turn from northbound Byrne onto westbound Hill, according to police.

The driver of the other vehicle, Ashley Joyner, 25, of Toledo, was not injured. She had no passengers.

The crash remains under investigation. Charges are pending, police said. Police did not say whether Mr. Brimmer and his passenger were wearing helmets.
