Henry L Bardeen was a dealer in leaf tobacco in Edgerton,WI. He was born in Brookfield, Madison County, NY, son of Rasselas and Maria (Palmer) Bardeen. He and his family moved from Madison County, NY to Albion, Dane County, WI which is just north of Edgerton in May 1854. Henry L Bardeen was educated at the Albion Academy. In 1867, he commenced buying tobacco for Leadaman & Bros, and was now buying for Brenzl & Dormtyer of NY. He married, May 13,1874, Miss Ada Banks, daughter of William Cole Banks of Edgerton,Rock County,WI.They had two children - Willie R, born March, 1875 and Minnie K,born July 17, 1877. The family attended the Methodist E.Church. Henry L Bardeen was a member of I.O.O.F.and was a Repblican.
