Irey was born Feb. 28, 1927, in Clebit in LeFlore County to Artie and Birdie (Williams) Cole. She was raised in LeFlore County and the Broken Bow area. She graduated from Broken Bow High School in 1945 and on Aug. 2, 1952, married Jack Irey. They made their home in Oklahoma City and in 1955 moved to Weatherford, where she worked for Great Plains Savings and Loan for 30 years. She retired in 1992.
Survivors include two daughters, Leesa Terry of Lawrence, Kan. and Lori Wooldridge of Oklahoma City; three brothers, Preston Cole and Glenn Cole, both of Broken Bow, and Milburn Cole of Greenwood, Ark.; three sisters, Geraldine Spencer of Broken Bow, Anna Lou Spencer of Paris, Texas and Charlotte Wade of Norman; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorials can be made to the Tipton Children's Home.
