The Yakima Herald, July 29, 1897:

George Bland, so of Wm. Bland of this city, died at the residence of Ed. Henderson, on the Ahtanum, Monday, after a long and painful battle with consumption. The deceased was about 35 years of age and for a number of years was a resident of Kittitas county. The funeral was held on Tuesday.

DEATH OF GEORGE B. BLAND.

The many friends of George B. Bland, formerly of this city, but for the last two years a resident of North Yakima, will be pained to learn of his death on July 26, after a long and painful illness. During his residence here he was an influential member of Court Destiny No. 598, Independent Order of Foresters, and a short time go was paid $1000 by the supreme court of that order, he being totally disabled from earning a livelihood. The balance of his insurance will be paid immediately.
