This is John G Creswell, born abt 1785, the son of John Creswell who born abt 1750. The elder John Creswell married (1) Ann Johnson, mother of John G, on24 Feb 1779, then married (2) Elizabeth (Willey) Mahan on 18 Mar 1808. These details appear in Morgan & Allied Families, p 51, as follows:
Elizabeth Willey, married first Mr Mahan by whom she had a son, Edward James Mahan. Her second husband, whom she married c 1809, was Col John Creswell, of Creswell's Ferry, Cecil County, Maryland. (Mr Creswell married, first, Ann Johnson, February 24, 1779. Maryland Marriages, 1777-1804, page 150, Maryland Historical Society. John Creswell and Anne, his wife, sold to John Roy of Baltimore City, 184 acres for 1,125 pounds, January 4, 1803. Cecil County Deeds, Vol 24, page 13. November 3, 1807, Col John Creswell, of Cecil County, sold land, his wife Anne relinquished her dower. Cecil County Deeds, Vol JS-3, page 358. Mrs Ann Creswell died c 1807-08.)
