Mr. Rice was a retired farmer and a member of Antioch. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII and a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean war.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Beacher Rice and Minnie Jane Bolin Rice; three brothers, Russell Rice, Felton Rice and Roy Rice; three sisters, Mary Jo Johnson, Avrice Sloan and Roberta Hendon; and a granddaughter, Carrie Jo Braswell.
He was survived by his wife, Nina Dean "Tency" Sutton Rice, whom he married May 17, 1947; three sons, Henry Clay Rice of Hermitage, Ronnie Carrol Rice and wife Genita of Hermitage, and Robert Allen Rice and wife Melissa of Banks; three daughters, Nina Jane Summerland and husband Joe of Hermitage, Robbie Dean Bergeron and husband Ronnie, and Rita Carolyn Boykin and husband Rodney, all of Johnsville; one brother, Raymond Rice of Little Rock; two sisters, Virginia Marshall of Jacksonville and Lela May Henley of Star City; 28 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
