SABILLASVILLE, Md. - Stewart Conde Abbott, 75, of 14944 Quirauk School Road, died Monday, Aug. 5, 2002, at Washington County Hospital.
Born May 24, 1927, in Maywood, Ill., he was the son of the late Douglas L. and Ethel M. Stewart Abbott.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy.
He was a member of Elks Lodge 378 of Hagerstown; and Edwin C. Creeger American Legion Post 168 of Thurmont, Md.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Murray Abbott, whom he married in September 1956; nieces; nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Douglas L. Abbott, Harry W. Abbott and Dick S. Abbott.
Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Mount Bethel United Methodist Church, Foxville, Md. The Revs. William E. Kercheval and Michael Fauconnet will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday at 1 p.m. at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Jews for Jesus, Washington D.C. Branch, 60 Haight St., San Francisco, CA 94102; or Salvation Army of Frederick, 303 N. Market St., Frederick, MD 21701.
Arrangements are by Stauffer Funeral Home, Thurmont.
