He was born in Wyandotte, MI on Dec. 22, 1952 and had lived in Liberty and Calhoun Counties for most of his life. He was a 1971 graduate of Blountstown High School. He was an avid lover of horses and also a part time cowboy. He was employed as a mill wright and was a member of Blountstown First Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his son, Christopher Lee Acree; and his stepfather, Glenn Bateman.
Survivors include his mother, Shirley Bateman of Bristol; his wife, Donna Acree of Boyce, LA; one son, Scooter Acree and his wife, Carabeth of Port St. Joe; one daughter, Jenny Acree (Brian) of Georgia; one brother, Tim Acree and his wife Christine, of Beverly Hills; two stepbrothers, Jim Bateman of Blountstown and Joe Bateman of Lake Talquin; one sister, Debbie Acree of Bristol; seven grandchildren, Garrett, Myles, Mason, Ross, Scout, Katie Lou and Kassidy.
Family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
Services will be held Sunday, Feb. 14 at 2 p.m. CT at Peavy Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Matt Basford officiating. Interment will follow at Lake Mystic Cemetery in Bristol.
