On October 16, 1948 he married Beatrice “Betty” Neff at St. Margaret Mary Church in Neenah. Jack and Betty’s marriage was blessed with one son, one daughter, and 67 wonderful years before Betty preceded Jack in death on April 10, 2016. An interesting note: Jack and Betty were the only married couple (both military) to fly to Washington D.C. in 2010 aboard the Old Glory Honor Flight to see their memorial.
Jack is a retiree of Bergstrom Paper, where he worked in the purchasing department. In retirement, he enjoyed boating and traveling.
Jack was a life member, of over 60 years, of the Neenah-Menasha Elks Club, Disabled American Veterans, Charter member of Valley Military Museum, Fields of Honor 70th Division, Assn., Neenah Historical Society, Neenah Club, and served as a Boys Brigade and Boy Scout Leader.
He will be sadly missed by his children: John (Tammy) Walsh, Lakeville, MN; Julie (Dennis) Olmstead, Appleton; grandchildren: Stephen Walsh, Amanda (Jake) Helmandollar, Seth (Carrie) Waters, Katie (Lewis) Green, Deanna (David) Eversen, Jolie (Nathan) Venton-Walters; a great grandson, Wyatt Helmandollar; a great granddaughter, Roxanne Venton-Walters; and one more on the way; a sister, Jean Walsh Schuchart; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, and his beloved wife Betty, he was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Bill Waters; nephew, Andy Neff; sister, Margaret Walsh; brother, Thomas Walsh.
Funeral Mass for Jack will be held on Monday, July 11, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Margaret Mary Parish (439 Washington Ave., Neenah) with Father Michael Ingold officiating.
