Sapcalmehue was a Native American born at Alalehue about 1780. She was the daughter of Yapazé ("Mariano", SBV baptism 02343) and Aluchumehue ("Maria Joviniana", SBV Baptism 02294). Sapcalmehue assumed her Christian name, Juana Nepomucena, when she was baptized at Mission San Buenaventura on May 22, 1805 (SBV Baptism 02066). She married Native American Tatsmuyu ("Joaquín", SLO Baptism ...). Juana died at Mission San Buenaventura and was buried in the mission cemetery on February 16, 1811 (SBV Death 01524).
