Funeral services for Mrs. Ben Olson, resident of this city more than half a century and of this area all of her life, were held at 2 o'clock Tuesday from Tracy Lutheran church with the Rev. Wm. F. Lehmann officiating.
Interment was in the city cemetery. Pallbearers were: Bill Craig, Charles Buzzell, Leo Shoeman, Bill Johnson, Thomas Boe and Gust Glatz. Ohman funeral home was in charge of arrangements.
Nellie Marie Olson was born Nov. 29, 1882, at Revere, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nels Hendrickson, and passed away in a local hospital at 7:30 a.m. Sunday. She was 81 years of age.
She spent her childhood and was educated in the Revere community and where she was married to Benjamin Olson on June 11, 1902. Mrs. Olson resided in Tracy nearly 60 years and spent the past few years with her daughter, Mrs. Gene Hunze in Vancouver, Wash., until returning here.
Mr. Olson died June 4, 1954. Besides her husband Mrs. Olson also was preceded in death by one son, Norris, who was killed in World War II.
The six children who survive include: Mrs. Burdette Peterson, Waubun; Mrs. Melvin Tofting, Tracy; Kermit Olson, Mankato; Nelder Olson, Owatonna; Mrs. Gene Hunze, Vancouver, Wash., and Donald Olson of Minneapolis.
Other survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Mary Overlee of Walnut Grove and Mrs. Liza Kleppey of Colton, Oreg., besides 20 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Olson was a longtime member of Tracy Lutheran church and for years was active in the Ladies Aid Society.
