Amanda Elizabeth Alexander Bryan Welch Lancaster

Amanda has been called every possible nickname in her records. She first married Richard H. Bryan/Bryant in Barren Co. KY 15/Jun/1865. They were parents of at least 3 children with the last one Amanda Fanny Bryan born 15/Feb/1879 after her father's death. Amanda said in her pension application that Richard's death was due to an injury he received while serving in Co. C 1st TN Mounted Infantry USA. Amanda left for MO in Sept 1879.
She was in Cape Girardeau Co. in the 1880 census; listed as Louisa Bryan. On 06/Jun/1881, Amanda married William Z. Welch as his second wife. They had two children Oscar Timothy Welch and Minnie Ella Welch who are buried along with Amanda in the Lessley Ridge Cemetery. (Timothy and Minnie are listed with mother M. Eliza Welch in the 1900 census of Cape Girardeau Co., MO.)
In the 1910 census, Amanda is listed as Manda E. Lancaster, widowed mother-in-law living with the family of Charles L. Adamson and wife Minnie.
