Marlys Abrisz
Marlys Warth Abrisz, 67, of Omaha, Neb., formerly of New London, died Sunday, Sept. 11, 2005, at Montclair Nursing Home in Omaha.
Born Sept. 16, 1937, in Mount Pleasant, she was the daughter of Arthur and Edna Dresser Warth. On Dec. 21, 1957, she married Darrell Edward Abrisz in New London. He died Dec. 20, 2001.
Mrs. Abrisz worked for Champion Spark Plug in Burlington for more than 30 years, retiring in 1991.
She was a graduate of New London High School. She was a member of New London United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Joy Circle, where she served as treasurer, New London High School booster clubs and New London Country Club. She enjoyed crafts, sewing, camping and traveling.
Survivors include one son, Dorin E. (Amy) Abrisz of Omaha; one grandson, Drew; and two brothers, William Warth of New London and Jim Warth of Iowa City.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to the time of service today at Elliott Chapel in New London, where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the time of service.
The funeral for Mrs. Abrisz will be at 11 a.m. today at Elliott Chapel, with Pastor Matt Miller officiating. Burial will be in Burge Cemetery in New London.
A memorial has been established for New London United Methodist Church.
