The DAR placed and dedicated a marker on Alabama Day, 1953 at the burial site near Maylene, Alabama approximately 5 miles from Montevallo, (along Shelby Co. Highway 17, south of Helena). The burial site for David Lindsey & Mary Casey also contains the graves of others, marked and unmarked. This gravesite is located on the old homestead of their son, Elijah Lindsey, who is buried there in an unmarked grave.
