Daughter of Charles Eddy WELLS & Laney Minerva (GASKILL) WELLS.

m. Aug. 30, 1913 to Jasper Earl PERRIGO in Jefferson County, New York [no previous marriage listed]. Marriage solemnized by Walter D. St. John, minister.
In her marriage license - dated July 30, 1913 -, the word "July" was crossed out and "Aug." was inserted instead.

Mary Ruth (WELLS) PERRIGO died in Clayton, Jefferson County, New York, at age 23 from pneumonia.
She was most probably buried in Clayton Village Cemetery like most of her siblings and her parents Charles & Laney "Lena" WELLS. Although her parents' graves are also not marked at this time (cf. memorials).

Obituary

Ruth Mary Wells Perrigo

Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Wells, born on Frontenac Island [Round Island], Clayton, N.Y. October 4, 1892. She was married to Jasper Perrigo, August 13, 1913 [sic]. She passed away from this earth, Monday afternoon, January 17, [1916], leaving two little children, Marjorie and Doris. The funeral service was held from our church, Wednesday afternoon, January 19, [1916], at four o'clock.

She was the eighth child that her parents have been called upon to part with. Beside her parents and husband and two children, she leaves two brothers, William of Auburn N.Y., Carl of Clayton; and one sister, Dorothy, also of Clayton.
