William graduated from Reagan High School in 1944, served in the U.S. Army from 1945 to 1947, and was a retired manager for Waukesha Pierce Industries.
William is survived by his daughter, Bealinda O'Brien and husband Francis "Buddy" O'Brien of Columbus; five grandchildren, Kimberly Bierwirth of Houston, Joseph O'Brien of El Campo, Sean O'Brien of Denton, and Corey O'Brien of Corpus Christi; three great grandchildren, Rachael Rivas, Jake Bierwirth, and Samantha Bierwirth all of Houston; daughter-in-law, Jan Bierwirth of Houston; sisters-in-law, Peggy White of Bryan, Betty Coffer of Kerrville, and Patty Hall of Spicewood; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Kring Bierwirth; his parents, William Bierwirth, Sr. and Louise Schilbach Bierwirth; sons, William L. Bierwirth and Randall L. Bierwirth; a sister, Lenora Decker Clay; and five brothers, Luther, Armin, Leo, Ludy, and Leopold Bierwirth.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm; and on Wednesday from 8:00 am to 10:00 am at Henneke Funeral Home in Columbus.
Parish Prayer Service and Rosary will be on Tuesday, 7:00 pm at Henneke Funeral Home led by Deacon Bennie Holesovsky.
Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, July 13, 2016, 10:00 am at Henneke Funeral Home in Columbus.
Pallbearers are Brent Bierwirth, Joseph O'Brien, Sean O'Brien, Corey O'Brien, Francis O'Brien, and Bill Decker. Honorary pallbearers are Waid White and Terry Hall.
